Cultivating Mindfulness is a six-week course that will help you lay the foundation for developing a meditation practice to bring mindfulness, calmness, fullness, and clarity into your everyday life. You'll learn about a variety of mindfulness techniques - like guided instruction, gentle stretching, mindful walking, mindful communication, and daily practices.
The course meets once per week for six weeks, including a brief orientation and one half-day retreat. Orientation is less than one hour, and the following classes meet for approximately 1.5 hours (the third class and the mini-retreat for the last class are longer). These sessions will include tailored lectures and instruction in mindfulness meditation practices, as well as group discussions, experiential mindfulness exercises, daily homework, and related class materials.

Cultivating Mindfulness meets once weekly for 1.5 hours throughout a 6-week period. In addition to your weekly classes, you will deepen mindfulness practice at one half-day retreat.
Your course fee includes guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices; individual reflection; experiential exercises in listening, walking, and eating; daily assigned practices or "homework"; individual, tailored instruction as needed or requested; and detailed course handouts. Access to downloadable audio recordings of meditation and mindfulness exercises is also included in your registration fee, for your use in practicing outside of class.

- Learn experiential mindfulness practices that develop your capacity to reduce stress and emotional reactivity, increase your attention and focus, and develop a healthier relationship to your self and others.
- Be able to establish and maintain your own personal mindfulness practice, formally and informally, and to apply the techniques and practices to generate balance and equanimity.
